This privacy policy applies to the collection of information, including information collected on our website and application. By submitting your information to us or any of our staff, you consent to the terms and conditions of the policy and to our processing personal information for the purposes stated below.

Personal Information
“Personal Information” is information that identifies you personally (for example, your name, address, telephone number, email address, skills, interests, education history, employment history, etc.). We collect and store the personally identifiable information that you provide us via the website, application, event registration, payment, etc.

Use and Disclosure

  • We do not sell or trade your personal information collected through our application, website, or other business activities with anyone else.
  • User information is distributed to 3rd party systems to assist us in performing our services. Examples include CRM systems, support systems and marketing systems that are not built nor maintained by us. User information may also be shared with 3rd party partners (to offer relevant services), but only after acquiring permission from the User to do so.
  • We present some of your profile information to other users of the application or website as a function of your relationship and collaboration with them. For example, a Volunteer’s information will be seen by an Organization for whom they are volunteering, and vice versa. This is necessary for both Volunteers and Organizations to communicate, collaborate, and verify each other’s identities.
  • We will use your information to comply with the law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the requirements of law or comply with legal process served on us, protect and defend our rights or act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of others.
  • For goods or services that we may sell through the application, website or other business activities, we may collect payment information that you submit, along with billing address and other information necessary to process payment.
  • We will use personal information to protect against potential fraud. If you use a credit or debit card on the website or application, we may use card authorization and fraud screening services to verify that your card information and address matches the information that you supplied to us and that the card being used has not been reported lost or stolen.
  • We make efforts to maintain practices that are compliant with the following laws/acts:
    CalOPPA (US/California). We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
  • We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party entities that are members within the Sharity community. For your own protection, you should review the policies of other entities to ensure they meet your personal privacy expectations.
  • We regularly review this Privacy Policy and may change, modify, add, or remove portions as needed. If we change this Privacy Policy in ways that affect how we use your personal information, we will notify you here or in a notice on our home page prior to the change becoming effective. We will also update the revision date at the bottom of the Privacy Policy. We encourage you to check this Privacy Policy from time to time to remain informed of any changes.
